St. Scholastica men’s soccer scored all its goals in a 10-minute stretch either side of halftime as the Saints blanked Coe College 3-0 on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Saints Field.
Romario Willis opened the scoring in the 44th minute and was followed by a Nolan Friday goal 45 seconds later. Chris Galley tacked one on in the 50th minute to complete the scoring. Anthony McHenry and Dominic Cuoco shared goalkeeping duties for the Saints, splitting three saves.
CSS (3-2) plays its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game in school history on Wednesday in Duluth vs. Gustavus Adolphus.
Women’s soccer offense stymied
Wisconsin-Stout held the St. Scholastica women’s soccer offense to a single shot on target in a 3-0 non-conference win on Saturday in Menomomie, Wis.
Marissa Steele, Lexi Boyd and Carly Kauffman found the back of the net for the Blue Devils, while CSS didn’t get its shot until less than a minute remained. Brianna Jorgenson made five saves for the Saints (0-3-1), who open MIAC play on Tuesday at home vs. Gustavus Adolphus.
